SimBin Denies 'False Rumours' News

Having tasted success amongst PC petrolheads, Gothenburg-based studio SimBin first signed a deal with publisher THQ in 2006 to bring its GTR franchise to Xbox 360. Two years later, and there's been very little news on the outfit's debut console racer - until today.

Reports have emerged online suggesting that a new title, Race 360, was unveiled in Cannes last week. Further details 'unveiled' hundreds of cars and over a dozen tracks for the supposedly Xbox 360 exclusive, including 12-player online racing.

Since the reports arose however, the studio has issued a statement, denying the reports as 'false rumours', all the while confirming that the Swedish outfit was continuing to work on a new Xbox 360 title.

"We are issuing this statement to counter false rumours currently circulating on the internet regarding a new X360 game," said Magnus Ling, Vice President, Simbin Studios.

He continued, "We do have plans for an upcoming X360 game and an official announcement from Simbin will follow shortly with correct information on title and publisher. The information currently circulating is incorrect."

With the convention season getting ready for E3 in just a couple of weeks and Leipzig following up in August, perhaps we won't have to wait too much longer for the truth to emerge.
