Rockstar Patches Liberty City Exploit??? News

Online reports suggest that an exploit in the PSP title that allowed homebrew has been patched...

Ever since the launch of the PSP, people have tried to run homebrew programs on the handheld...much to Sony's consternation. We've had numerous firmware updates in a bid to thwart such 'illicit' use, and today it seems another route to homebrew has been taken away.

According to reports on GTAPSP.com, a known exploit in Rockstar's GTA: Liberty City Stories, which allowed players to mod the game and run certain homebrew applications, has been fixed.

Confirmation of the fix was made on the site by a gamer who'd recently bought a copy of Liberty City Stories only to discover that the exploit had been patched in newer batches of the game...much to their consternation.

So another door has been closed on the underworld environment of homebrew; there will undoubtedly be others for gamers to exploit in the future however, and is something that Sony seems to be continually dedicated to stamping out. A real case of cat and mouse.
