Rockstar's Social Club To Host Midnight Club News

As well as catering for GTA IV, the Social Club will also be used in other games such as Midnight Club: Los Angeles...

GTA IV

Rockstar's Social Club went live overnight and, as was suspected when the community site was announced last month, it won't be limited to rankings and leaderboards for GTA IV only. Adverts confirm that the website will also be catering for other Rockstar titles including Midnight Club: Los Angeles.

The Social Club site has an advert which reads "Midnight Club: Los Angeles - Coming Soon To Rockstar Social Club." This fourth iteration of the Midnight Club series is currently slated for a release sometime in Take-Two Interactives's 2008 financial year (i.e. any time between now and the end of October).

There are also six game slots in the member's profile section of the Social Club - at the top right of the homepage - suggesting that many more Rockstar games will join GTA IV on the community site in future.

Also advertised as "Coming Soon" to the club is the game Beat It! It's referred to as "The Statistics Card Game" in the advert, but it's the first we've heard of the game. From a purely speculative standpoint, it could be anything from a mini-game that's exclusive to the club, something to rival XBLA's UNO, or an as yet unannounced GTA IV tie-in feature.

Also detailed on the site was the previously announced ZiT music service. By dialling ZIT-555-0100 on Niko's phone whenever you hear a song you like on Liberty City's many radio stations, the track will then be tagged and you can purchase it via the Social Club in conjunction with Amazon MP3. This service will initially be limited to US gamers only.

lol am i only joined by a few people that actually read about the exclusive DLC ms paid for before the game came out, im sure pc and ps3 owners to ignorent to actually read about microsofts exclusive rights for DLC on the 360 and the amount of money they shelled out for it and yet ps3 and pc owners still dont get it,

here ill make it simple ms payed for exclusive DLC before the games release exclusivly on xbox 360 only if sony had come up with an offer better than ms im sure it would have been 360 and pc owners complaining about DLC but the fact is it was announced months before the games release and you only have your sefs to blame for buying it and expecting DLC that isnt comming out on the ps3/pc.

Okay, okay, we feel your pain. PS3 gamers don't get the DLC either, you know? At least PC users get the unquestionably awesome video editing suite. I could muck around on that for hours by itself.

Rockstar can rest assured that next time I WONT BUY THE GAME! I'll just download it, and they they can shove the exclusivity upon their *********.
