It seems the Miami Attorney is determined to see his own reflection in a GTA game...
According to reports from GamePolitics.com, Miami attorney and anti-game activist Jack Thompson has once again struck-out at Rockstar and Take 2 Interactive for supposed depictions of himself in a Grand Theft Auto game. This time it's a lawyer in one of the game's missions that's got Mr. Thompson all hot and bothered.
The mission concerns the execution of a lawyer in GTA IV at Liberty City law firm Goldberg, Ligner and Shyster (it's Goldberg that Niko kills). Incidentally, we were lucky enough to see this mission demoed at Rockstar in July - click here for the preview. Anyway, Thompson is threatening to block the release of GTA IV unless his alleged depiction is not removed. The Miami attorney made the following comment in a letter addressed to Take 2 Interactive that was attached to a document filed this week with a Florida federal court:
I have this morning read with interest an article on page 80 and 81 of the September 2007 issue of Game Informer magazine which was generated when, according to its author, Rockstar Games "stopped by the Game Informer offices for an impromptu hour-long gameplay session with the Xbox 360 version of the game."
The showcasing play of the game revealed that the first killing mission of the "hero" of the game, Niko, is to kill a certain lawyer. When Niko comes into this lawyer's office, having used subterfuge to do so, Niko pulls a gun on the lawyer who says, "that the firm supports the second amendment and that 'Guns don't kill people. Video games do.'"
...The fact that the lawyer, killed on Niko's first mission, would bring up video games, makes it clearly a reference to me... This is not the first time Rockstar Games and Take Two have targeted me in this fashion. Take Two references to me as a bisexual pedophile on its corporate website...
You have until five o'clock P.M. this Friday... to inform me that you are going to delete the above references and any other references that could reasonably be construed to be references to me in Grand Theft Auto IV and any other video games that are pending release...
Now you have descended this low - using one of your games to threaten my physical safety... Failure to comply with the deadline... will result in my having to take necessary and proper means to stop release of the game which targets me personally... given the copycatting of violent games...
The bisexual paedophile reference in paragraph three may well be regarding the promotional site for GTA: Liberty City Stories from 2005, where a fictitious e-mail (JT@citizensunitednegatingtechnology.org) led to Mr. Thompson releasing the following comments:
"When you click on the fake e-mail, banner headlined at the top of the home page, from "JT," the Miami, Florida (Liberty City) anti-violent video game crusader, you will find that JT (Jack Thompson) likes to surf the Internet for pictures depicting deviant sex acts by teenage girls. Additionally, there is at the site an audio ad featuring a man whose name is "Jack" who is found naked by a mother in her son's room. Bisexual pedophile Jack Thompson is the combined message."
Continuing:
"Take-Two/Rockstar has created and paid for an actual Internet web site at www.citizensunitednegatingtechnology.org for the purpose of furthering the notion that its most abiding and most effective critic, Jack Thompson, is himself a sexual pervert. This is the oldest dodge used by the porn industry, first used on Jack Thompson by radio pornographers whom Thompson got fined by the FCC in 1989...Jack Thompson can assure the world that the only thing to which he is "addicted" is eating entertainment industry scofflaws for breakfast - and golf."

lol am i only joined by a few people that actually read about the exclusive DLC ms paid for before the game came out, im sure pc and ps3 owners to ignorent to actually read about microsofts exclusive rights for DLC on the 360 and the amount of money they shelled out for it and yet ps3 and pc owners still dont get it,
here ill make it simple ms payed for exclusive DLC before the games release exclusivly on xbox 360 only if sony had come up with an offer better than ms im sure it would have been 360 and pc owners complaining about DLC but the fact is it was announced months before the games release and you only have your sefs to blame for buying it and expecting DLC that isnt comming out on the ps3/pc.
