GTA IV To Brim With RAGE??? News

Reports suggest that Rockstar's next-gen Grand Theft Auto will be built with their RAGE engine...

Entertainment news network MTV News is reporting (by way of German online publication Gamefront) that Rockstar North's next-generation title Grand Theft Auto IV is being developed with Rockstar's proprietary game engine, RAGE (Rockstar Advanced Game Engine).

Already used to create Rockstar Presents Table Tennis, if the report is accurate, RAGE will be the replacement engine for the GTA series, which had previously used Criterion Software's (now owned by Electronic Arts) RenderWare.

Created specifically for next-gen technology, it would come as no surprise that Rockstar would choose what is after all their own engine for one of the most anticipated titles on the new platforms.
