GC08 - PC Exclusive GTA IV Features Revealed News

PC gamers may have had a hard time waiting for GTA IV's confirmed release on PC, but their patience will be rewarded as Rockstar has promised that you'll be able to view replays of your exploits in Liberty City and edit them as an exclusive feature to the game.

In addition to this, Rockstar also suggested at the Leipzig Game Convention that the number of multiplayer slots (16 on the consoles) may be expanded for the PC release, although exactly how many more players the game will cater for is unclear at this point.

The new replays will allow gamers to view 30 second clips of their adventures and then tinker with them in a dedicated editor. This will allow you to do everything from adding filters to experimenting with camera angles. You can even cut multiple 30 second clips together for a classic Rocky style montage. Gamers will then be able to upload their finished works to the Rockstar Social Club for others to view online.

Rockstar even demoed a mission for us to show the game's heightened 2560x1600 resolution. Three Leaf Clover, where you rob a bank with a trio of Niko's Irish mates, certainly looked that bit crisper with the upped definition to the graphics.

Another improvement will let players search for multiplayer games more specifically (e.g. a deathmatch with pistols only), and Rockstar also stated that GTA IV PC will be compatible with the Xbox 360 controller.
