G.I. Joe game set for release this summer alongside the G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra movie...
Go, Joe! Not only is the veteran of many American toy wars set to sidle up to the silver screen later this year, but he'll also have his very own movie tie-in game published by EA to boot.
The game is due for release this summer alongside the movie, which comes to theatres on August 7th 2009, and EA plans to publish the game across all major home consoles and handheld systems.
As Joe always used to teach us, "Now we know, and knowing is half the battle," although we don't actually know that much about the gameplay at this point. Single-screen co-op and a storyline line that picks up where the live-action movie will leave off is all we've been told so far, but we'll keep you posted as soon as we know more.

Joe property this year with an all-new toy line and film, EA is excited to play a major role in bringing this icon of pop culture history to a new generation of enthusiasts through interactive gaming," said Chip Lange, General Manager and Vice President of EA Hasbro. "G.I. Joe offers exceptionally rich storylines and a cast of characters that lends itself incredibly well to creating an over-the-top action adventure video game that will thrill gamers as well as G.I. Joe fans."
This latest EA Hasbro game is one of a line of titles that the games publisher and toy manufacturer have teamed up to produce. Other titles include Nerf N-Strike and Littlest Pet Shop.
