A taster of KAOS Studios' upcoming shooter arrives on Xbox Live Marketplace...
In preparation for the impending large-scale assaults heading to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC in February 2008, THQ has released a single-player demo of Frontlines: Fuel of War on Xbox Live Marketplace.
Developed by Manhattan-based KAOS Studios, Frontlines sees Western Coalition forces go head-to-head against a united Sino-Russian Alliance in Central Asia, in a bid to win the last oil reserves in the world. Besides the single-player storyline, Fuel of War will take gamers to 32-player battlefields (64-player on PC), with dynamic frontlines driving the gameplay.
TVG recently jetted off to NYC to speak to Producer Joe Halper, and got to grips with the early sections of the campaign; you can check out our thoughts here.

To me, Frontlines: Fuel of War was a very good game IDEA. The problem I had with the game was the actual gameplay such as movement. It looks like it was thrown together in some crappy last second way. It seems to me that the creators of Frontlines worked forever on the story and the idea of what they were going to add, even increasing graphics to a nice level. Then all of a sudden they remembered they had never made anything from the character's view yet and threw in this crappy movement system tagged along with a crappier looking gun in your face. I'm not a graphics junkie, I don't need the highest end graphics for a good game. What I would like though is for my character to move realistically. IF they could fix this factor, I would buy another Frontlines.
