March 28th Release For FM 2008 On Xbox 360 News

Football Manager 2008 will come out just in time for the end of the English football season...

It's been five months since Sports Interactive's FM 2008 came out on PC, but that hasn't stopped the developers releasing this Xbox 360 version at the tail-end of the English football season. FM 2008 will be released for Microsoft's console on March 28th.

One possible explanation for this wait is that the game will work on Xbox 360 Core systems (or Arcade Consoles as they're now known). Football Manager on the Xbox 360 has previously required a hard drive to hold the reams stats that the game is famed for. Nevertheless, those clever Sports Interactive guys have managed to fit it all on a disc for FM 2008, meaning that all Xbox 360 owners can play.

In addition to this the Xbox 360 game also boasts different multiplayer options over Xbox Live than the PC game, including one-on-one matches as well as tournaments. Sports Interactive has also updated the game's database to account for movements on the transfer market over the last few months.

"This year's game is the first that 'Core' users will be able to enjoy due to the hard work of the development team, and we look forward to getting a new generation of budding Football Manager's across Europe."

Can you confirm that that much space has actually gone from your hard drive (i.e. by right clicking on your C drive in 'My Computer' and selecting 'Properties'), or is it just the FM08 file that lists a 39.8 GB size?

	By: freeradical Added:Thu 11th Jun 2009 16:13, Post No: 28 Okay, try uninstalling everything that relates to FM 2008 on your hard drive (go "Control Panel", "Add or Remove Programs" etc.), as well as any other FM08 files. Then make sure that nothing is running on your desktop (no browser windows etc.) and install the game using the method I mentioned before. When running through the installer, be sure to tick the box "Create Desktop Shortcut". If you're running the game in Vista, this might be what is responsible for the installation errors. Let me know if that works.
