Final Fantasy XIII

Last week we reported on comments from Square-Enix President Yoichi Wada to news organisation Reuters that Final Fantasy XIII and Dragon Quest IX would feature on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation3.

It seems that Wada-san's comments have forced Square-Enix to back-trackâ?¦

In a statement from Tokyo, the company confirms that whilst next-gen titles are in development, the strategic decisions as to which platforms they will appear are yet to be decided:

â??We will continue to disclose any important information regarding business operations immediately after we make any relevant decision.â?

Weâ??ll have more news on this in the future.

nobody is asking for that demo quality! just a better version of ff7, no one cares if its a little worse but its ps3 so it will still be awesome, and seriously is playstation stupid? do they have any idea on how many copies would sell and how much ps3 console sales would go up specificaly because of this game!? maybe their waiting on purpose?

multiplatform games are not a bad thing. In fact they are good. See not everyone has the money to get a PS3 if they have a 360. Exclusives going multiplatform is good.

It's ludicrous, how did Sony loose this one? Tretton's exclusives are weaker than the Halo's, Gear of War's, and 3rd party exclusives Microsoft forks out for. Team Ico's game can't come soon enough to restore a little bit of credibility in the PS3. C'mon Sony. It may have been mad old Ken's bold vision that has got you in this mess, but you really got to pull yourself together.

I think Versus will be the more popular FF... Many people dont like women as their protagonist (although i dont care) plus all the fan boys are pissed... (even i was surprised and i dont really care)

oh and just for the record when square enix released ff6 it was on cart, for ff7 they made it 3d with lush backdrops ect but the n64 was a cart based console and the only console around that had a big used base was the ps1 as it used compact disk that could hold masses more data than a cart, also cheaper than making a 2.4gb cart (would have cost near if not more than $1000) maybe now youll understand why square looked at the playstation back then and the 360 now (space as in disk isnt an issue anymore as no system except from the ds uses cart). you may want to be loyal to sony but most companys want/need to make as much money as they can and hving there biggest game on just 1 format doesnt make sense especially as there are more 360's out there than ps3's.
