A flash site for Square Enix's Final Fantasy XIII reveals a December 17th Japanese release date...
Square Enix has been indulging its fans in some URL related riddling with a flash site that reveals a December 17th Japanese release date for Final Fantasy XIII when you replace "_Before_" with "_After_" in the URL.
Here's the webpage as it normally appears, and here's the same page with the amended "_After_" code. It's as good a confirmation of Final Fantasy XIII's release date as you're going to get without an official announcement, which should follow at Square Enix's FFXIII event in Tokyo today that's due to start imminently.
A spring 2010 window has previously been announced by Square Enix for FFXIII's release in the US and Europe.
UPDATE: As expected, Square Enix has confirmed a December 17th Japanese launch for FFXIII at its Tokyo press event. The game will be priced at 8,800 Yen (that's 9,240 Yen after tax, notes Kotaku), which translates to roughly $95 ($100) in the US and £58 (£61) in the UK.
Sqaure Enix wouldn't reveal any further details on the Western launch beyond what we already know: spring 2010.

A FFVI remake would be more exciting to see and would make more sense than a FFVIII remake since FFVIII already has 3D graphics. I would only roll my eyes at a FFVII remake. Seriously, the world's gone way beyond sloppy seconds with those characters and that universe as it is.
