Square-Enix acknowledges that Yasumi Matsuno will retain a supervisory role...
Confirming rumours that have been circulating for some time, Square-Enix has announced that the Producer of Final Fantasy XII Yasumi Matsuno has resigned from his role due to ill health. His replacement has been unveiled as SaGa Director Akitoshi Kawazu with Matsuno-san retaining a supervisory role.
In the statement, Square-Enix said, â??The game is just one step away from completion, so please look forward to it. We are confident that we will deliver a Final Fantasy beyond everybody's imagination on March 16 [FFXIIâ??s Japanese release date]"
Matsuno-san also released a statement in which he commented, "To all the fans that have been waiting for the release of Final Fantasy XII, I'm sorry that its development has been taking an extremely long time. I unfortunately will have to take a step away from the production scene, but the game is progressing in its development under the hands of excellent staffs, including Minagawa, Ito, and Akiyama.â?

I was truly dissapointed with the game, when some of the hunts are harded then the end boss makes the game more of a joke. Plus the lack of attempts at various creatures instead giving a variation of wolf, bunny or snake made me even more peeved at buying the game. If i wanted to run round fighting the same creatures i would go back to playing doom. Final fantasy VII and VIII still remain my favoured games of the series.
