FFXII - New Info + Video Footage News

Further from yesterday’s announcement, we’ve discovered further details on ‘Final Fantasy XII’, currently in development at Square-Enix for the Playstation2.<br><br>As had previously been suspected the game won’t be released in Japan until Summer 2004, making a European release before 2005 look extremely unlikely.<br><br>The game will be the first Final Fantasy title to be rendered completely in 3D, granting players full control over the camera and not from fixed points as with previous games in the series. <br><br>As we claimed yesterday, the game is set in the same world as the ‘Final Fantasy Tactics’ series although at a different period; Square-Enix confirmed that the Judges from that series would appear in ‘Final Fantasy XII’ in a major role as Knights of Terror – players will find themselves in constant pursuit by the Knights and having to flee from them.<br><br>It’s also been revealed that the game will feature a wide range of aircraft, linking into Vaan’s dream of one day becoming a sky pirate. It’s not yet known whether these will be fully playable or merely used in the games cut-scenes, but hopefully we’ll have clarification on the matter soon enough.<br><br>Following on from ‘Final Fantasy X’, it’s been confirmed that the game will feature full voice-acting support for the main cast – let’s just hope it’s better then the dire dialogue in the aforementioned title.<br><br>During the presentation Square-Enix displayed a 3 minute trailer of the game in action, which you’ll find here courtesy of <a href=http://www2u.biglobe.ne.jp/~nanko>Quitter</a>.
