Ubisoft announces Fighters Uncaged, a mixed martial arts game built specifically for Xbox 360's incoming Kinect peripheral...

Ubisoft has revealed via its raft of Gamescom announcements that it will be bringing a mixed martial arts-based fighting game called Fighters Uncaged exclusively to the Xbox 360's incoming Kinect device.

The game will launch this coming November when it will offer 70 different fighting moves based on gestures recognised by the Kinect peripheral, and 21 different locations to duke-it-out in including "dark alleys" (of course), "gritty city docks" (not just any city docks), rooftops, and an abandoned church (for some reason).

Both "voice-activated super strikes" and "jump-in multiplayer" will also be available in the game to take full advantage of Kinect's features, while a range of fighting opponents with varying martial arts styles and the ability to upgrade your fighter as you progress will no doubt keep things interesting.

"Fighters Uncaged is the first motion fighting game for Kinect, dedicated to a core audience," said Caroline Stevens, EMEA Director of Marketing at Ubisoft. "Fighters Uncaged requires players to get out of their seat to engage in a controller-free full-body combat game and experience the authentic fighting style of Thai boxing."

Motion Capture technology used in films and games etc. isn't the same as Kinect's technology. They're both used for entirely different processes and with completely different intentions. Motion Capture translates human movement into a detailed CG character, while Kinect tech translates human movement into recognised commands and gestures.

lol yet another fail for kinect, when will microsoft and the 360 fanboys realise through all the advancements of kinect you still need a good light sorce for it to track body movment, when has any motion capture for a hollywood blockbuster animation ever used people without the white balls on there body's to track movment.

now do you understand why "move" is so much more accurate, at least sony put more thought into actual motion capture rather than technical achievement.

Either a poorly synched demo or the lag of Kinect - either way it's not looking much fun...

You should make it were if you dont do a technique your caracter want either other words if you dont move they dont either becsause on one of the demos i saw the caracter was doing techniques even when the person playing was not.
