EA Sports' big cheese, Peter Moore, weighs up the possibility of doing a mixed martial arts game...

For anybody not in the loop, mixed martial arts is the sort of fighting you see in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). In short, very scary looking men tear each other to pieces in a cage using a fusion of fighting styles from across the globe.

Currently THQ owns the official license for the UFC, but EA Sports' Peter Moore has now suggested that the publisher is looking closely at the possibility of developing a mixed martial arts game, telling IGN:

"Boxing, for me, sadly feels like it's the past of fighting," Moore said in no small reference to EA's upcoming Fight Night Round 4, "and Mixed Martial Arts feels like it's the future of fighting. So when we look at where people's attention is going, that's something we keep a very close eye on."

I like the control setup, it's easy to use. I read somewhere else someone saying it was impossible to throw a left hook. Er...no it isn't.

I still don't understand why people don't like the control setup - it's intuitive and responsive, what more do you need?

Ahhh you big girls' blouse - all of ya.  Afraid of something a little different - gotta admit I wouldn't like to see analogue controls is somehting like Street Fighter IV, but it perfectly suits Fight Night.

I can't believe they have taken the buttons off !! Great shame, the analogue stick doesn't work for me, spoilt my summer and I won't be buying the game now. Well done EA for messing up another big title game. If it's not broken don't try and fix it !!!!

Where's your gaming spirit? If it's a good game and the controls feel intuitive, then a true gamer would rise to a difficult challenge.

Agreed,

I don't understand how a community of 2000 people can get EA to make their game LESS accessable to newcommers, and button veterans alike. Trying to go between the analog sticks of fight night R4, and the precise button combinations of UFC 09 will be a nightmare. It's already tough enough.
