And yes, it will include the option to switch punching controls onto the face buttons...
EA has announced that it will be releasing two portions of free DLC for Fight Night Round 4 in the coming months, adding everything from a new gym to punching controls on the face buttons.
The first DLC delivery, scheduled to arrive in August, will add this new gym as well as new equipment and gameplay sliders for counter punch window, boxer stamina, and punch accuracy stats (reports Kotaku). A variant skin for Sugar Ray Leonard will also be available exclusively with the Xbox 360 DLC.
After that, DLC will arrive in September which will give players the option to change from thumbstick controlled punches to face button commands. Many fans felt aggrieved when this option, which was in Round 3, was not included in Round 4.
"We strongly believe that the refined Total Punch Control is the most intuitive way to throw punches in Fight Night Round 4," said the game's Senior Producer, Dean Richards. "But we also want fans of the franchise to have an option."

I like the control setup, it's easy to use. I read somewhere else someone saying it was impossible to throw a left hook. Er...no it isn't.

I still don't understand why people don't like the control setup - it's intuitive and responsive, what more do you need?

Ahhh you big girls' blouse - all of ya. Afraid of something a little different - gotta admit I wouldn't like to see analogue controls is somehting like Street Fighter IV, but it perfectly suits Fight Night.

I can't believe they have taken the buttons off !! Great shame, the analogue stick doesn't work for me, spoilt my summer and I won't be buying the game now. Well done EA for messing up another big title game. If it's not broken don't try and fix it !!!!

Where's your gaming spirit? If it's a good game and the controls feel intuitive, then a true gamer would rise to a difficult challenge.

exactly its 2 hard throwing combos on the analog stick. Buttons = Precision

Agreed,
I don't understand how a community of 2000 people can get EA to make their game LESS accessable to newcommers, and button veterans alike. Trying to go between the analog sticks of fight night R4, and the precise button combinations of UFC 09 will be a nightmare. It's already tough enough.
