Freeze Interactive today sent word that their promising RTS/FPS hybrid, Field Ops, has been pushed back from its original release until Q1 2007.

Although a release date had yet to be finalised there was some hope that the game would make a November 2006 release; however, Freeze's dedication to the project has provided Digital Reality with extra time to hopefully realise its full potential.

TVG learns that the extra time will be largely focussed around the game's multiplayer mode, an area that Freeze hopes to match the likes of Battlefield from which it draws inspiration.

Freeze assures us that the game will achieve alpha status by the end of summer, ahead of the game's completion at the end of the year.
