Ubi Confirms Far Cry For Xbox 360 News

Ubisoft has today confirmed a double dose of Far Cry with the announcement of Far Cry Instincts Next Chapter (Working Title) for Xbox and Far Cry Instincts Predator for Xbox 360. Next Chapter is set to introduce a new story and characters that will build on the original Instincts release. Ubi has also announced that new gameplay features will also be included in the game, though specific details are yet to be confirmed.

The publisher also confirmed that Far Cry Instincts Predator is currently in development for Xbox 360, which will feature an 'enhanced' version of both Far Cry Instincts and Far Cry Instincts Next Chapter. Announcing that the game will be in High-Definition and feature improved enemy and vehicle AI, Ubi also confirmed that a greater number of enemies will be on screen.

"Far Cry Instincts quickly became one of the most talked-about games of 2005 because of its blend of high graphical quality, wide open environments and immersive gameplay elements," said John Parkes, EMEA Marketing Director for Ubisoft. "Ubisoft is confident that Far Cry Instincts Predator for Xbox 360 and Far Cry Instincts Next Chapter for Xbox will be among the best games this year."

Despite the need to produce titles for Xbox 360, it's a worry that certain games (including Activision's GUN) haven't taken real advantage of the system, instead adding a layer of gloss and bumping up the price by an extra tenner. At least with Predator, gamers will have both Instincts titles to play through, which may be some consolation.
