Got the Pip-Boy 3000.Infinite XP
You can gain infinite XP if your speech skill is high enough.(My speech was about 30 at the time). Go to town called "Big Town" located north of Vault 101.If you spoke with a girl named Bittercup she should tell you about her dating exploits. After speaking with her, go into the house marked "Common House" and speak to a man named Pappy. There should be a speech skill dialogue option that says "You came here with Bittercup, right?" You will get XP every time you click it. (I got 6XP with each click). ContinFinding Dogmeat
If you want your character to have a pet dog in the game, then head over to an area known as Scrapyard, which is northeast from Megaton, just over the river. The dog is automatically named Dogmeat, and you can get him at any time, whether it’s early in the game or otherwise. The dog can attack enemies endlessly and cannot die.Unlimited Items
If you have a sneak rating of at least 60, you can attempt this infinite goods trick, which takes place at Fort Independence. Head to Fort Independence with a bunch of Scrap Metal in your inventory. Once there, speak with Protector Casdin and tell him you’ve got junk you’d like to give him. In return, he’ll offer up 5.56mm Rounds, Frag Grenades, RadAways, and Stimpaks, and you can choose which you want. Then, save your game (in case you fail the following) and steal your Scrap Metal back from the Protector. Sell the Scrap Metal back to him over and over again, thereby netting you infinite amounts of 5.56mm ammunition, Frag Grenades, RadAways and Stimpaks.Stowing Goods on Dead Bodies
Here’s another great technique, if you’re carrying too much stuff and find yourself encumbered. You know how you can search downed enemies’ corpses for the goods they carry? Well, you can also place your own goods onto the corpse. Since corpses tend to stay around after they die seemingly indefinitely (or, at least, for a good long time), you can drop presently unneeded items onto the corpse of a foe you’ve slain, and then go back at a later date to get your stuff back. This is a great way to never become encumbered.Never Break A Bobby Pin
If you want to avoid breaking precious Bobby Pins when picking various locks in Fallout 3, exercise patience. If you’ve failed opening the lock on the first two tries, chances are a third try will break the Bobby Pin. If you back out of trying to pick the lock and then immediately reattempt it, however, your Bobby Pin’s strength will reestablish itself, giving you several more tries. Repeat this technique to never break a Bobby Pin.Carrying Goods
Here’s an interesting way to avoid becoming encumbered by holding too much gear and too many items. Say you pick up a heavy piece of gear, like forty pound Power Armor, but when it’s added to your inventory, it makes you encumbered. Drop the item and then press the right analog stick (or corresponding button for PC gamers) to pick the item up and hold it in front of you. Since it’s being held and is therefore not part of your inventory, you won’t be charged for its weight and can get to where you need to go from there without being too encumbered.Infinite Experience in Andale
To try this, you’ll need to have the Mister Sandman perk activated, which will mean you have to be at least at level ten. You’ll also need a sneak skill of at least 60. If that fits your character, then travel to Andale. Andale is full of kids that can’t be killed (killing kids in Fallout 3 is an impossibility). During nighttime, when everyone in Andale is sleeping, break into various houses and kill the kids while sleeping using the Mister Sandman perk. They won’t die, but you’ll still be rewarded experience for having killed them. You can then repeat the process over and over again for infinite experience points.Free Evil Items at Paradise Falls
If you have bad karma (or don’t mind having even worse karma), head over to Paradise Falls, a place a group of evil slavers call home. To gain entrance without having to open fire, you have to be friendly with the slavers, which will give you an evil slant. But if you can do this, you’ll find a guy endlessly walking around the settlement (he’s usually at or near the bar, but can be elsewhere). When you get near him, he’ll stop you automatically, tell you he found some cool stuff on a recent raid, and give you some of what he got (it will be either some ammunition, Bottle Caps, or various aid items). After your first encounter, all you have to do is keep speaking to him to earn more and more free stuff.Infinite Experience in Big Town
Here’s a glitch that will allow you to get infinite amounts of experience (as long as your Speech skill is high enough). Try the following steps:1.) - Go to Big Town and find the NPC named Pappy.
2.) - Select the dialogue choice You came here with Bittercup, right? If this dialogue choice doesn’t show up, find Bittercup, exhaust all of her conversation chains, and then try speaking with Pappy again. ([Speech 100%] should appear next to the dialogue choice if your Speech skill is at its highest. If it’s not there yet, don’t risk trying to convince him. Speech failure will result in this glitch permanently disappearing.)
3.) - Selecting that dialogue option successfully will net you six experience points. Speak to him again and you can get the experience again. Repeat as much as you want for as much experience as you want.
V.A.T.S. Spotting
If you’re heading into seemingly-hostile territory or simply want to survey the area around you for enemies you might not yet see, try hitting the VATS button over and over again as you make your character turn around, searching all angles. Doing so will alert you to any enemies you may not yet see by zooming in on them in VATS mode. You’ll realistically be unable to do damage to your foes from such a distance, but it’s a good way to spot foes before they spot you so you know what you’re getting yourself into before the crap hits the fan.Hacking Indefinitely
Here’s a great tip (though it will be obvious for some people). When you hack a computer in the game, you have four tries to hack it successfully. If you don’t hack it successfully on the fourth attempt (as in, you don’t guess the proper password), the station you’re trying to hack will permanently shut down. But if you only try three times and bail out of the process before trying for a fourth time, the password will reset, giving you three more options. You can do this indefinitely without risking shutting the terminal down.Extra Inventory Space
If you’re running out of room in your inventory and don’t want to ditch any of your gear, consider trying to find a companion character. These companions can be found at various places throughout the world and will agree to join you on your journey (temporarily). You can trade equipment with these characters, which will allow you to dump your equipment on them, making you virtually unencumbered. Consider this option when you not only need help with bad guys, but help carrying your crap as well!Super Mutant Behemoth Locations
There are five Super Mutant Behemoths that can be found and killed. After they die they cannot respawn. You can find them at the following locations.Galaxy News Radio: This Behemoth will destroy a wall just outside the GNR Building as you enter the area (quest related).
Evergreen Mills: At the bandit camp near Vault 112, a Behemoth is behind an electric enclosure beside the train tracks. When the generator powering the enclosure is destroyed the Behemoth will escape.
The Capitol Building: Use the west entrance and go inside the main room. Look on the map. The room is straight down the hall from the entrance. However debris will force you to find an alternate route there.
Takoma Industrial: Located east of the GNR Building at the end of the map. The Behemoth is just north of the factory, standing in the middle of some wrecked cars.
Jury Station: Go west until you find a group of crumpled up train cars. Search this area until the Behemoth appears. You will know if you are in the correct area if you see a teddy bear in a shopping cart.
Prototype Medic Power Armor
You can find the Prototype Medic Power Armor in Old Olney in the northeast section of the map. The area is swarming with Death Claws. Set the difficulty to "Very Easy", and go there. On the southern-most street of the town is a grate on the sidewalk. Step on it, and it should open out from underneath you, effectively forcing you to go through the sewers. Fight your way through the sewers. Eventually you will find a ladder to your left. Keep going forward to find a Brotherhood of Steel Initiate. She will beWatch Out!
Watch out when you are in towns. Be careful of pick pocketing and stealing objects because if you are caught, you WILL die! Also be careful of your weapon. If you fire your gun or hit somebody, they will attack and you WILL die!Escape!/Megaton
Complete the Escape! Mission and reach Megaton successfully to achieve 20 gamer points!Free caps and slave collar
For the "Strictly Business" quest, capture Susan Lancaster and receive your reward for her capture. Afterwards, speak with her in the slave quarters part of Paradise Falls. Note: You will need one of the slaver's keys to access the slaves quarters; pickpocket one. After entering the slave quarters, speak with Susan. When she asks for help, choose the option "You're a slave. Deal with it.", then return to Grouse to collect your reward again. Grouse will think that you captured her again. You can repeat thisHave weapon get properties of another one
Note: Doing this may cause the game to freeze. Press the button to activate V.A.T.S. while at the exact same time, switching weapons set on a hotkey. For example, if you are wielding a hammer and has a gun set to a hotkey, activate V.A.T.S. and you will hit a person with the gun equipped as if it was the hammer. You can use this to hit people with the rifle or even a bottle cap mine.Strictly Business: Susan Lancaster disappears
While on the "Strictly Business" quest, where you enslave people from around the Wasteland, occasionally Susan Lancaster will disappear from Tenpenny Tower. After hitting her with the Mesmetron and being caught reload a saved game and try again. She may be nowhere to be found. The quest marker on my map will state you have to go to Paradise Falls. After picking Eulogy Jones' pocket for the "Box Key", gain access to the slave pens. You can find Susan Lancaster inside the adult slave barracks without a collarOperation Anchorage: Extra weapons
When you are in control of your strike team you can get specific weapon loadouts from a terminal. Give the weapons to the Quartermaster and you can get another loadout. Drop all the new weapons and talk to the Quartermaster. He will give you your weapons, but without ammunition. Go to the ammunition dispenser to restock, then pick up the weapons that you dropped. You can repeat this as needed.Unlimited experience points
Note: Using the "Unlimited experience" glitches can leave you weak. The higher level you are, the more difficult the game gets. You will encounter more and stronger enemies, and they will have better weapons in better conditions.Note: This can only be done with an unpatched version of the game. Have a Speech skill of at least 30. Visit Big Town by travelling northwest from Springvale Elementary. Talk to Bittercup about her dating exploits. Talk with Pappy about how he came to Big Town with Bittercup to

In the quest "Those!", after you and Brian Wilks arrive in Grayditch, he will tell you about his father and where his home is (other things may be asked though). After you agree to check if his father is alive, Brian will go into one of the radiation preservation shelters. When he enters, sooner or later the phrase "Now I know what a TV dinner feels like" can be heard. This is a reference to a line Bruce Willis mutters when he is crawling through an air conditioning vent in one of the Die Hard movies. The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion reference
There is a certain location where you can find a building named Fort Faragut. This is the name of the fort where Lucien Lachance lives for the Dark Brotherhood side story in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion.Fear Factory reference

The text is about a virus infecting their Archetype, and at the end it repeats parts of the song "Archetype" by Fear Factory: "the infection has been removed, the soul of this machine has improved".Gone With The Wind reference
When you first arrive at the citadel and make your way to Scribe Jameson, you will tell her that you had found a "Brotherhood of Steel Holotag". She will then say, "I have an offer for you". Scroll down to the bottom and one of the replies will be "Frankly, I don't give a damn", which is a reference to Gone With The Wind. The Incredible Hulk reference

At Paradise Falls are two slaves around Eulogy's Pad named Crimson and Clover. They are Eulogy Jones' bodyguards. This is a reference to a song by Tommy James And The Shondells called "Crimson And Clover".Easy "Silver-Tongued Devil" achievement or trophy
At any point, travel to Big Town on the map. Talk to Buttercup about her dating Pappy. After that go, initiate the speech challenge with Pappy and keep on clicking the "Speech" option. Because it will never go away you can just keep clicking it until you get the "Silver Tongued Devil" achievement. This trick works best if you speech is at least 30 to succeed in the Speech challenge. Note: This requires the unpatched version of the game.Note: This can be done on the patched version of the game. Go to Lit
Easy Karma level achievements or trophies
In order to get multiple "Reach level ? with ? Karma" achievements or trophies, try to remain neutral for the duration of the game. When you are getting close to one of the notable achievement levels (8, 14, or 20), save the game. Then, turn evil or good by completing a quest giving you good karma or murdering random characters. This will send you into the good or bad karma statuses while giving you experience. Once you get the achievement for reaching a certain level with bad or good karma, reload your savEasy experience points
Use the following to get 5 experience points as many times as desired. Go to Craterside Supply with two frag mines. Go behind the wall behind the mercenary and place one. When it is making the sound like it is about to explode, disarm it, pick it up and repeat.Place frag mines behind the merc standing against the wall in Craterside Supply (found in Megaton) then quickly pick them up. You will get a small amount of experience for disarming the mine. Have a few frag mines in your inventory (so you do not have to re-equip the mines), then go into the room behind the merc. Get close to the back side of the wall that the merc is leaning against and place a mine. Quickly pick it up as it will immediately be armed and ticking. Repeat as this as necessary.
Easy good karma
Go to Big Town at night. The town will come under attack from a Super Mutant raiding party. For each Super Mutant you help the residents of Big Town slay, a small amount of good karma can be earned. Repeat this process as many times as desired.Easy Stealing, Hacking, and Speech bonuses
Save the game before starting a dialogue with a Speech bonus, hacking a computer, lock picking, or pick pocketing. Simply reload the game if you fail the challenge.S.P.E.C.I.A.L. planning
It is important to plan ahead when setting your special values. Make sure you know what each attribute does before choosing how many points to put into it. Things to consider while distributing points are as follows. Will your character need it? If you are never going to use melee weapons or wear power armor, do not put many points into Strength. A Perception of 5 will generally put your enemies on the radar well before they see you.
Will you be getting a Bobblehead? A Strength of 10 is useless because the Bobblehead is in Megaton. The same goes for Intelligence; you will be going to Rivet City at some point. However, this is not true for Charisma; Vault 108 is a bit out of the way.
What kind of armor/clothing will you be wearing? Most hats increase Perception by 1. Most Wasteland clothing increases Agility and Endurance by 1 each.
Will you be using perks to further increase your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. attributes? The Ant Might, Ant Sight, and Special Training perks all do this.
Your Luck does not have to be over 5, because of the "Lucky Getup" consisting of Lucky Shades, Lucky 8 Ball, Three-Dog's Head Wrap, any Luck-increasing armor/clothing item, and the Bobblehead (the first two of which count towards your permanent Luck total).
Brahmin tipping
Find a solitary Brahmin. Sneak next to it while unarmed. While crouched, interact with it to tip it over.Hacking
If you move your cursor throughout the symbols, sometimes you will highlight a group of symbols. Selecting these "duds" will remove one of the words that is wrong from your choices. Also, it may grant you an additional attempt if you have already gotten a selection wrong.Search around both fields and you will find a string of symbols that you can enter as the password. It starts with "(", "<", "[", or "{" and ends with the same symbol. This will completely refill your password attempts.
Only use thre
Lock picking
Use the following trick to avoid breaking bobby pins when trying to pick a lock. Just before the bobby pin is going to break, exit that screen then go back. You will save a lot of bobby pins by doing this. This also works when trying to get a password for computers. To always pick a lock successfully, go to the door, safe, etc. and save the game. Then, start the sequence and choose "Force lock". If you fail, just reload and try again until you do it successfully. This requires only one bobby pin.
Stealing
To successfully steal an item without getting caught you must take it in crouch mode with the "hidden" description viewable on your screen. However, there are items that are constantly guarded or require a very high Sneak skill. To steal those items easier, you can use the "Grab" ability. Simply grab the item and move to a darker part of the room until the "detected" description turns to "hidden".When you see an item on a shelf or table in a store or house where there are too many people around to steal
Reverse pick pocketing
The following method is used to put something into the target's pockets, rather than removing things. You also can be caught doing this, and it will still result in Karma loss, but it does have some interesting uses. Any mine or grenade placed in someone's pocket will become live, exploding after a few seconds. This is why there is a Pants Exploded statistic in your Pip-Boy records. Also, all NPC AIs, not only those of your companions, will cause them to wear any armor with a higher DR than their own. If you put, for example, a Power Helmet in Three Dog's inventory, he will be wearing it on the next load and you will be able to pickpocket his unique head wrap (Charisma +1. Luck +1). Many items can be obtained through reverse pick pocketing that could not be obtained otherwise without needless death. This works with weapons as well, but the AI instructions for weapon use are much more complicated, involving range, damage per round, and damage per second as well as the usual DMG rating. Consequently, using this trick to obtain weapons may not always work.Defeating Death Claws
Go to the alien crash site and pick up the weapon that is found there. Collect all the ammunition you can for it. Go to the town named Old Olmeny found northwest of the mine field. The town has a lot of Death Claws. Make sure you are good on health. The weapon obtained from the alien crash site will kill the Death Claws in one or two shots.Defeating Super Mutants
The hunting rifle is the best common weapon. Head shots in or out of V.A.T.S. work well; Chinese assault rifle, or combat shotgun up close. The scoped .44 Magnum and sniper rifle are great if you have the ammunition. Use grenades and missiles for groups. Aim low with the missile launcher because it tends to wander a bit in flight. If you have a few seconds of distance between you, drop a few mines for them. They will run over them. The Centaurs are like Super Mutant guard dogs, because if you see one there are probably Super Mutants near. Killing the Centaurs is necessary at times, but they are almost always empty upon searching the corpse. Also when in a area controlled by Super Mutants, always check the gore bags. It may be gross, but it is a good place to scrounge for items.Defeating robots in the Wastelands
Run up a steep hill with the robot at the bottom. Some robots have problems shooting upwards at a steep angle. Shoot at them as you are running up the hill to destroy them easily.Saving VATS Action Points
If you know you can hit an enemy or group of enemies, aim at one in VATS, but do not fire. You will keep your Action Points, but remain aimed at the part of the enemy's body targeted in VATS. If you shoot quickly enough, you should still strike the targeted area without expending any Action Points.Jaeriko
If you talk to Jaeriko about going back into the wastes, he will join you if you give him 1,000 caps for supply money.Fall long distances without dying
If you find yourself falling off a bridge or cliff, simply save the game in mid-air close to the ground and reload it. You will land safely on the ground.Jump off a very high location. Before you land, activate V.A.T.S. and attack something.
Early detection
When wandering around in the world or towns, use the following trick to get an early heads up on enemies, encounters, or learn who is nearby. Keep tapping [V.A.T.S.] while searching at all angles. If there is something out there, you will get the V.A.T.S. zoom in with a low score. You will at least know what is there and can figure out a plan of attack or how best to sneak around it.Followers
There are eight followers that you can get at the indicated locations with the appropriate karma.Butch: At Rivet City after completing the "Trouble On The Homefront" quest. Requires neutral karma.
Sergeant RL-3: Purchase this robot from Tinker, a salesman wandering the Wasteland. Requires neutral karma.
Fawkes: Save in Vault 87. Requires good karma.
Star Paladin Cross: Found in the Citadel. Requires good karma.
Jericho: Found in Megaton. Requires evil karma.
Clover: Buy this slave in Paradise
More inventory space
You can use your followers as storage. Talk to them and tell them you want to trade equipment. Give them all your non-essential items. You can also place your own items onto the enemy corpses. Because the corpses remain almost indefinitely, you can drop non-essential items onto the corpse of an enemy then return at a later time to recollect it.
Skip storyline
In main storyline, when you first enter the Wasteland level up until at least level 2. Instead of going to Megaton or the GNR radio station, go to Rivet City, and talk to Doctor Li. If this is done when you get to the GNR radio station part of the storyline, you will be able to skip that entire section. Note: Rivet City is located near the end of the map in the southwest region.Project Purity code
The code to activate Project Purity at the end of the game is "216".Arlington Cemetery North: Abraham Lincoln shrine
The house with the Luck bobblehead also contains a hidden shrine to Abraham Lincoln.Fort Independence: Easy items
This trick requires a Sneak skill of at least 60. Go to Fort Independence with some scrap metal. Once there, speak with Protector Casdin. Tell him you have junk that you would like to give him. In return he will offer 5.56mm rounds, frag grenades, RadAways, and Stimpaks. Select whatever item desired, then save the game. You can then steal your scrap metal back from Protector Casdin. Sell the scrap metal back to him repeatedly to get as many of those items as desired.Fort Independence: Full armor and energy weapon repair
To get your armor and energy weapons repaired to full health, go to Fort Independence. Accept the technology side quest. When you give the person Power Armor, Enclave Power Armor, or any energy-based weapon, as soon as he gets it, the item will be repaired to 100%. To get the items back you have to kill him. Note: This can only be done once, so use it wisely.Girdershade: Nuka-Cola collection
North of the Dunwich Building in the southwestern part of the map is a town called "Girdershade". There, you will find two shacks. One of them has the name Sierra Petrovita. Enter her shack and you will find the only Nuka-Cola collection in the game.Hubris Comics: Text adventure mini-game
Go to the Publishing wing of Hubris Comics. You can play a text adventure game named "Reign of Grelok" on some of the terminals. The objective of this game is to kill Grelok. Type "N", "S", "E", or "W" to move around in the mini-game and simple one word commands to interact with the objects and people. You can also type in obscenities for funny responses.Megaton: Hidden sniper rifle cache
You can find a sniper rifle and other supplies hidden in a rock near Megaton.National Guard Armory: Secret weapons cache
There is a hidden area in the National Guard Armory that contains an experimental MIRV gun (the most powerful weapon in the game) and the Small Arms bobblehead.Scrapyard: Dogmeat
Dogmeat is the only animal character you can have as a follower. Accept Moira Brown's quest to go to a place called Minefield. You will usually encounter Scrapyard on the way. If not, you can go there directly to the south of Minefield. Keep searching the Scrapyard and you will eventually find Dogmeat.Vault 112: Failsafe code
When you are on the quest to find your father, stop by Vault 112. Once you enter the Tranquility Lane, stop by and talk to Betty. Once you have talked to her, go make the boy cry. Talk to her again afterwards. Make your way into the abandoned house and activate these objects in the following order: radio, pitcher, garden gnome, pitcher, cinder block, garden gnome, and empty bottle. This should activate the portal to your right. Go to the terminal and follow through there.Crashed UFO and alien location
Move north and slightly to the west of Minefield. You will find the VAPL-66 Power Station. Follow the power lines north until you hear a radio signal Athena. While staying in range of that signal, search the surrounding rocky area until you find the ship. The Replicated Man quest: Get both rewards
When you discover the identification of the android and are deciding to turn him in or warn him, go to the android first. Convince him to go to Zimmer on his own and he will reward you. After that, go to Zimmer in the science lab. Tell him about the android's identity. He will also reward you. Note: You will still get bad karma. You can get both rewards if you go to Harkness (the android) first and agree to help him. One option when you agree to help him is gaining permission to kill Dr Zimmer and his bodyguard. You will get the plasma rifle from Harkness and then can go to the science lab. At that point you can betray Harkness and tell Zimmer his identity. You will then gain the VATS Perk from Zimmer. When Zimmer attempts to leave to look for Harkness, you can still kill him and his bodyguard with no penalty from the locals. When you return to Harkness he is none the wiser, and acknowledges that you have killed Zimmer. By doing this you will get both rewards and Harkness remains in Rivet City.
