Put seven big, strong defenders at the back and one quick striker to exploit the game; it won’t work in FIFA 11...

TVG recently had the opportunity to talk to FIFA’s Producer and Grand Overseer David Rutter.  Talking passionately about the benefits that the all-new Personality Plus system offers, Rutter explained the deficiencies of previous FIFA systems and how to easily exploit the system and win every game.

“We spent a long time debating on what to say because we’re essentially almost putting our hand up and saying ‘it didn’t work very well in the past’, Rutter said about Personality Plus in a TVG Q&A.  “We’re actually rubbishing previous versions of FIFA by doing it.”

“If you wanted to win at FIFA 10 or FIFA 09 or FIFA 08 you took the strongest players and the fastest players and you played with that team, the nuances of everything else that is football was completely lost,” Rutter added.

“If you had seven defenders at the back that were massive and strong and one incredibly quick striker, you’d win the ball and lob it up the pitch and do it.  Now that tactic is ridiculous anyway, but that’s kind of the ultimate extreme of exploiting FIFA 10.”

“We want to get away from that,” he claimed.  “We want teams that aren’t necessarily the Barcelonas or the Real Madrids but do have a skillful passer or have a strong defender or have a playmaker in the midfield, that they should still be able to do that and flourish within the game even if it’s against a team made up of very strong, very fast players.  That’s why Personality Plus from an attribute perspective becomes important.”

Personality Plus is behind improvements across the board, even assisting with a much needed boost to the commentary system in FIFA 11.  Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for further FIFA 11 coverage today.

As a Utd fan I usually have nothing but scorn and hatred for Liverpool, but I got to admit that's beginning to soften.  King Kenny is back doing the business, as much as I hate to admit it - bad childhood memories of that man winning everything.

But I'd rather see a club run properly doing well then clubs that inists on buying everything.  Liverpool got a decent return on Torres and made a gamble with Carroll - who could easily end up as prolific as Shearer and is always going to be more of a team player then a certain mopey Spaniard.

35 career goals for Andy Carroll - that's a million quid per goal!  He's got potential, but that's a lot of money to be spending on somebody who's still largely unproven.

As for Torres, just shows how worried Chelsea are about not making the Top 4 this season - hilarious...

I don't know who's stupider, Chelsea who bought an overestimated player with so much money, or Liverpool who were not happy about this buy (eventhough they ripped Chelsea off!), and then went on to spend 35M on a player who's even worse than torres and is worth 5M!

I think it's Liverpool.

This has really been blown out of all proportion. And just like the poster below me, I too find this article over dramatic and pointless.
