EA reveals a new mode for FIFA 11 that allows gamers to play exclusively as the goalkeeper...
EA has announced a new mode for FIFA 11 called 'Be A Goalkeeper' that will allow users to play through the game's Career mode as a goalie and build their skills from a butter fingers newbie to a safe handed veteran.
Much in the same way as the game's Be-A-Pro mode has allowed users to build the careers of individual outfield players in recent years, 'Be A Goalkeeper' will open up the goalie position for the first time in the series' history.
There isn't much detail on the mode's gameplay at this stage, although EA's press release does mention the ability to play as all 22 on-field players in 11 vs. 11 Online Team Play now with 'Be A Goalkeeper', as well as varied levels of AI assistance for the mode (assisted, semi-assisted, and manual).
'Be A Goalkeeper' will be playable through FIFA 11's new Career mode (the amalgamation of Be-a-Pro and Manager mode from previous years) and is set to take full advantage of the new Virtual Pro 2.0 features in the game.
Chelsea and Czech Republic keeper, Petr Čech has been announced as an EA spokesperson for the new mode and will be featured in various marketing campaigns for the game.
"The phenomenal growth of online gaming and the desire of our fans to be able to play as the goalie was the driving force behind this innovation for FIFA 11," said Kaz Makita, Executive Producer, EA Sports FIFA. "Friends can play alongside each other in their pro clubs with all 11 virtual players on the pitch human controlled. We have finally replicated football in the virtual world."

As a Utd fan I usually have nothing but scorn and hatred for Liverpool, but I got to admit that's beginning to soften. King Kenny is back doing the business, as much as I hate to admit it - bad childhood memories of that man winning everything.
But I'd rather see a club run properly doing well then clubs that inists on buying everything. Liverpool got a decent return on Torres and made a gamble with Carroll - who could easily end up as prolific as Shearer and is always going to be more of a team player then a certain mopey Spaniard.

35 career goals for Andy Carroll - that's a million quid per goal! He's got potential, but that's a lot of money to be spending on somebody who's still largely unproven.
As for Torres, just shows how worried Chelsea are about not making the Top 4 this season - hilarious...

I don't know who's stupider, Chelsea who bought an overestimated player with so much money, or Liverpool who were not happy about this buy (eventhough they ripped Chelsea off!), and then went on to spend 35M on a player who's even worse than torres and is worth 5M!
I think it's Liverpool.

This has really been blown out of all proportion. And just like the poster below me, I too find this article over dramatic and pointless.
