After last year’s shambolic commentary system, FIFA’s grand master tells us things have changed for FIFA 11...

We’re all big fans of FIFA at TVG, but there’s one thing that really grated with us in last year’s otherwise excellent FIFA 10 - the commentary.

Forget Personality Plus and the all-new Career mode in FIFA 11, what we wanted to know when we got our first taste of the game is whether or not Andy Gray will talk about managers at clubs they no longer control.  Frankly the commentary in FIFA 10 was a little pants.

Both Andy Gray and Martin Tyler will return to the commentary box in FIFA 11, but thankfully we can expect a whole heap of improvements and hopefully no further gaffes from the pundits this year.

“We’ve done a lot of new commentary this year,” David Rutter said in a TVG Q&A.

“I think this year the biggest part of the new commentary has come about in support of the Personality Plus feature again.  If you’re playing with a skilled dribbler it will let you know, if you’re playing with a strong defensive midfielder it will let you know.”

“So if you’re not a strong football fan, if you don’t know who Huddleston is for example, and you don’t know why he’s good at somethings and not good at others, the commentary will help you understand this year and that’s a big part of what we’re trying to achieve.”

Well as long as Andy Gray doesn’t tell us Mark Hughes is the manager of Blackburn Rovers any longer we’ll be quite happy.

As a Utd fan I usually have nothing but scorn and hatred for Liverpool, but I got to admit that's beginning to soften.  King Kenny is back doing the business, as much as I hate to admit it - bad childhood memories of that man winning everything.

But I'd rather see a club run properly doing well then clubs that inists on buying everything.  Liverpool got a decent return on Torres and made a gamble with Carroll - who could easily end up as prolific as Shearer and is always going to be more of a team player then a certain mopey Spaniard.

35 career goals for Andy Carroll - that's a million quid per goal!  He's got potential, but that's a lot of money to be spending on somebody who's still largely unproven.

As for Torres, just shows how worried Chelsea are about not making the Top 4 this season - hilarious...

I don't know who's stupider, Chelsea who bought an overestimated player with so much money, or Liverpool who were not happy about this buy (eventhough they ripped Chelsea off!), and then went on to spend 35M on a player who's even worse than torres and is worth 5M!

I think it's Liverpool.

This has really been blown out of all proportion. And just like the poster below me, I too find this article over dramatic and pointless.
