Refusing to rest on their laurels, EA outlines the improvements you can expect from this year's FIFA...

EA today outlined the big new features that are set to ensure FIFA 10 continues the improvements laid down by its predecessor.

More sophisticated ball control and enhanced physical interactions between players are top of the list, along with the "first ever-true" 360 degree dribbling system allowing skilled dribblers to face the defender and use highly responsive dribbling to skip past him.

When on the attacks, players will analyse space more effectively, making curved runs to beat the offside trap, and offer more variety when moving forwards.  Defensively, EA promises entirely new concepts such as position priority that allows defenders to multitask, such as filling in spaces left open by their teammates.  Finally, EA also promises a myriad of improvements to the keepers, resulting in a more responsive and powerful rushing system.

Responding to feedback directly from FIFA fans, FIFA 10 will also introduce better balance on lofted balls, improved goalkeeper intelligence, more realistic shooting mechanics, and a more immersive experience through continuous play and quick freekicks.

FIFA 10 also boasts a deeper Manager mode with over 50 different improvements, including realistic transfers and true-to-life player growth curves.

"We have benefited from 275 million games played online to refine FIFA 10 in a way that matters most to our fans," said Andrew Wilson, Vice President & Executive Producer for the FIFA franchise. "We've listened and responded to their feedback to improve player control, responsiveness and intelligence and create what we believe is the world's most authentic football videogame."

TVG took a close look at FIFA 10 and will be bringing you our first impressions when the embargo drops on Friday.

How can you give gameplay a %95 when any player knows any other players location in the pitch? (playing Manual) ex. If you are a defender facing to your goalkeeper and want to pass to a winger, the pass always goes to the foot of the winger, like the defender knows his location exactly. Everyone is passing like Messi, shoots are really bad, ball physics have really nothing to mention. Every attack is the same with the AI, they just run to empty spaces. Go watch a real football game and see if something like this really happens?. Even in Legendary, when you understand this, you should't concede any more goals. Any opposition defender can take the ball from even the strongest attackers 1to1. There's no chance without a "trick" to pass a defender. This is not realistic either. Graphics are really bad, especially faces. The only good thing is the atmosphere. So please, rate it correctly. It's a 6/10 game, nothing more.

well, all I can say is I'm glad I only rented Fifa 10 - the gameplay is promising and if this were a tech demo I'd be excited - but the bugs and stunning lack of polish (for example, the commentary constantly lacks context and even contradicts itself from blurb to blurb)

I have to raise an eyebrow when I see it merits a perfect score here, some fairly low standards wouldn't you say?  What would a game without bugs in major features garner?  11/10 mayhaps?

Come on, EA is paying too much for the rating. Fifa can never compare to PES in gameplay.
