Toy Soldiers map pack shrinks players and puts them into a series of bizarre situations...

Warner Bros. today announced the first of three DLC packages heading towards the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Store for F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin.

The first bundle of goodness, aptly named the 'Toy Soldiers Map Pack, will be made available on April 16th and includes a rather bizarre array of new content.

F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin - Toy Soliders DLC
Sandcastles and pinball machines...

Promising to offer multiplayer from an entirely new perspective, the Toy Soldiers Map Pack reduces player's height to just a few inches and puts them into a variety of strange situations, such as a 1970's pinball machine replete with flippers, targets, and spinners.

The Cockroach map takes place in a blood-stained hospital room, as players climb up electrical cables, laboratory equipment and pill bottles.  Finally, Recess takes place from the top of a giant sandcastle to the cockpit of a toy bulldozer.

Additional packs to be made available throughout the summer promise more multiplayer maps, single-player stages, and extra EPA maps.

I'm excited about the game, but I do find the title rather dull. Though it does get the point across I suppose. While it was a great idea to let the fans help contribute to the naming process, surely something more interesting had to have been submitted? Either way, it's sure to be a game that will sit on my shelf.

Lame, lame, lame, lame. Dull uninteresting and cliched. Then I suppose the name was generated by residents of North America only, not known for their literary prowess. If I'd been allowed to enter a name it would have been Alma Mater: Terror's Origin. Its a pun you see, and reasonably clever.
