Wii F-Zero On the Horizon??? [UPDATE] News
German reports allude to the return of F-Zero at this year's E3 event...
By Chris LeytonPosted: 10/04/2008
Without citing any sources, German website Planet-Nintendo.de has today suggested that F-Zero will be making its Wii debut at this year's E3 event.
Alleging that the game will be titled F-Zero Z, the scarce details suggest that the title will feature Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection support... and weapons!
Unfortunately that's about all that was revealed in the report. Naturally it doesn't require too much of a stretch in imagination to believe F-Zero will be arriving on the Wii at some point, given that it's graced every Nintendo format since its debut on the SNES back in 1992 and was an early appearance on the format's Virtual Console.
TVG has contacted Nintendo for a response and will bring you an update on the title soon.
[UPDATE]
A Nintendo Europe spokesperson confirmed to TVG that any talk of F-Zero Wii is rumour and speculation.

i would love to play f-zero on the wii but i really hope they dont add items. it could become too much like mario karts. I would much rather have it like the old games, with no items and difficult tracks. Items would take most of the skill aspect out of the game

If they include weapons, I hope they also include an option to shut them off in multiplayer matches. I respect their decision to add weapons, I hope the developers respect the fact that many players will NOT want weapons.

With Speed Racer looking so much like F-zero X, I gotta think there jumping in there before a new F-0 is release, dosn't look to bad tho, but a total rip-off.

Will we see 30 player F-Zero to mirror the excellent Grand Prix experience???
