Mickey uses his magical brush against forgotten Disney characters...

Scans and details from Game Informer's first look at Epic Mickey have hit the net, ahead of the Wii exclusive's official unveiling later in the month.

As previously suspected, Epic Mickey finds players taking control of the iconic character in a world inspired by an earlier style and filled with long forgotten Disney characters.

Game Informer describes the game as a mixture of platforming, exploration, and puzzle solving, as Mickey uses his magical brush to paint buildings, brush away enemies and create or destroy the world around him.  How you decide to play will affect Mickey's appearance, which judging from the scans so far appears to closely resemble his late 1920's inception.  Mickey can bring sketches to life which when activated allow him to use special powers such as the ability to slow down time or creating a TV to detract enemies.

Junction Point Studios spent hours researching the tiny details and taking hundreds of photos from the Walt Disney theme parks to recreate the look and feel of the world in which Epic Mickey is set.
