End of May launch for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions of the Strogg's battle on Earth...

Activision has finally revealed a UK release date for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 ports of their 2007 PC squad-shooter, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars.

News of the confirmation comes via UK-based industry publication MCV, which reports that the console editions of the game are due for release on May 30th, eight months after the title launched on the PC.

Developing Quake Wars for the PS3 has been the responsibility of Activision Foster City (formerly Z-Axis), with the Xbox 360 version looked after by Nerve Software - the studio behind the XBLA version of Doom, along with the Doom 3 expansion, Resurrection of Evil.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is set as a precursor to the events of Quake II, with a massive emphasis on class-based multiplayer gameplay between the Strogg and mankind.

I have been playing the demo a lot, and it is very good. I think that keeping the graphics high and destructable terrain out has opened it up to people who dont have the highest spec machines. It is much more engaging than the BF series, everything feels more of a team effort. Great looking (run on a 8800GTS i have all on highest and get 100+ fps!) and great gameplay, cant ask for much more. A definate buy for me and would recommend.

So does anybody play this game? Wasn't quite as good as I was expecting after all the years of waiting.
