Bethesda confirms the appearance of Oblivion on Sony's formats along with extra content...
The rumour that refused to go away has finally come true; Bethesda Softworks will be bringing the latest chapter in The Elder Scrolls series to the Playstation3 and PSP, according to recent US reports.
A port of the epic Xbox 360 and PC RPG, Oblivion, is heading to Sony's next-generation format, whilst the PSP will host the latest title in the Elder Scrolls Travels series for mobile platforms, dubbed Elder Scrolls Travels: Oblivion.
Early information hints at a new faction being introduced to the Playstation3 version known as The Knights of the Nine and likely tied to the religious order throughout Cyrodiil. Essentially an alternative of The Dark Brotherhood but for the side of light, the faction promises all-new quests, items, weapons and armour in the attempt to become Cross-Divine.
The 'Knights of the Nine' title was recently trademarked by Bethesda's parent company, ZeniMax, alongside 'The Shivering Isles', which presumably will appear further down the line as another expansion. We wouldn't be too surprised if both appeared on the Xbox 360 and PC versions in the shape of an expansion pack or downloadable content.
Look out for more information soon.
