VP and Executive Producer share some thoughts with the fans; but how long do we have to wait...

An update to the official Elder Scrolls forums today revealed scant details on the recently delayed epic RPG Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Both Bethesda VP Peter Hines and Executive Producer Todd Howard claim that the simple reason Oblivion is coming out in early 2006 is because â??it isnâ??t done yetâ?, although both refused to narrow down the new date any further.

In the meantime Bethesda is hard at work in the â??make-or-breakâ? stage with tasks such as optimising, balancing and testing the game, however they have promised the fans updates in the â??coming weeks and monthsâ? â?“ surely not too many months however???

Cryptically the post ends with the promise of another fan-interview â??to let you ask what it is you think we aren't telling youâ?; so more to Oblivion then theyâ??re letting on or a desperate attempt to sustain interest in what could be a lengthy delay, weâ??re quite happy to sit and wait provided they manage to top its predecessor.

Weâ??ll have more on Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion soonâ?¦

Hmm... Have you tried notifying Microsoft? Also, could it be something simple like parental controls stopping the game from playing?
