Interplay reveals their intentions to revive past game series should they secure the funding...

Publisher/developer Interplay has released its financial report for the quarter ending September 30th and, while the company did register a drop in net income of $1.1 million (£555,000) from the same period last year (a 70% drop), it did nevertheless remain in profit.

There was, however, some fascinating gaming titbits nestled in amongst the numbers. Apparently, the company intends on turning around its fortunes by instigating a comeback of some of its most loved franchises.

As long as Interplay can obtain financing, we can expect to see the return of the much loved Earthworm Jim, as well as series such as Dark Alliance, Descent and MDK.

The company also re-iterated its intentions to develop a Fallout MMO. This follows their decision to sell the intellectual property for Fallout to Bethesda in April of this year, while retaining the right to publish a Fallout MMO game under certain conditions that have been agreed with Bethesda.
