Turbine's Dungeons & Dragons MMO set for Europe with Codemasters as its online service provider...

In a joint statement Turbine and Codemasters have announced a deal that sees the UK based publisher become online service provider for the MMO Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach, which is set for release in 2006. Stormreach will be the first time that the classic Dungeons & Dragons fantasy brand has appeared as an MMO title and is set to feature Keith Bakerâ??s Eberron campaign setting from 2004.

"Codemasters' investment in online gaming makes them the right partner for Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach in Europe," explained Jeffrey Anderson, President and CEO of Turbine. "We are convinced that Codemasters will provide the best exposure and customer support for this highly anticipated title."

"Turbine has an exceptional heritage in the MMO space and we are delighted to be its online operational partner for the European launch of Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach," commented Rod Cousens, CEO of Codemasters. "With outstanding experience in online community management, Codemasters is committed to expanding its activities in the MMO market and this agreement is testament to the expertise within our online gaming division."

"Hosting, community management and technical support are all vital to delivering a positive MMO game experience that brings players back again and again," said Rachel Hoagland, director of digital entertainment for the Hasbro Properties Group. "We are pleased to be working with Codemasters, a leader in online gaming, and Turbine, which has a track record of developing successful MMOs."

The deal with Turbine will see Codemasters take responsibility for hosting, billing, and customer service Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach in the European territories, and is the latest MMO to be signed by Codemasters following the August announcement that they are to publish RF Online; weâ??ll have more on the title shortlyâ?¦
