Well not exactly as George Broussard confirms Duke Nukem: Forever “not real close to release”…
In reply to a thread enquiring about the current state of Duke Nukem: Forever, George Broussard CEO 3D Realms, recently heaped further doubt over the future of the title, currently standing at seven years in development and counting.
When asked why Duke Nukem: Forever wouldnâ??t feature as a cover-mount to celebrate the 100th issue of PCPowerPlay in Australia, Broussard claimed â??IMO, it's more abusive to the community to continue to talk about and show the game when it's not real close to release. What's the point of leading people on? The best thing we can, and should do, is to shut up, finish the game and start showing it and talking about it when it's near enough release that people can actually see light at the end of the tunnel.â?
Once again this seems to suggest that the chances of seeing Dukeâ??s long-overdue and comical return this year are extremely unlikely, whilst some have even claimed that it will be 2006 before we see the return of the wisecracking saviour of the planet Earth.
Weâ??re hoping for more specific information to come from an official perspective, but to be quite honest weâ??ve all but given up hope on hearing anything soon; rest assured if miracles happen and Elvis is in fact living on the moon, weâ??ll bring you more information soon.

i really feel bad for the people who were making this game for over a decade. This game should've been so much better.

I can't wait for the remake of Duke Nukem Forever. They should get started now if they want to finish it before video games are considered a mocking reference to the kitsch of a dead society. Or maybe that wouldn't matter since Duke Nukem is already a joke about Duke Nukem.

It's a shame but inevitable given the awful dev time of DNF...

i doubt duke nukem forever will materialise, its game engin will be well and truly out of date, releasing it on xbox live arcade or psn is the only way people will consider it a worthy purchase though to be perfectly honest there are far better shooters out there anyway like cod4 or left 4 dead.

LOL Why the hell does anyone EVER pre-order software. I have never in 20+ years ever not been able to stroll into a store and get the latest release off the shelf.
