New game from Resident Evil and Devil May Cry creatives...

Capcom has announced Dragon’s Dogma, an action RPG set in a fantasy medieval world. The game draws on the talent of key creatives from the Resident Evil and Devil May Cry series, and currently has the largest development team of any project at Capcom.

Set in a huge open world, Dragon’s Dogma has you fighting alongside up to three A.I. controlled characters that you can recruit yourself from the game's towns and villages. NPCs in the game are fully voiced and a large variety of fantasy creatures will be encountered during the quest, from goblins to griffins and dragons.

Combat appears to be more fluid than in some comparable titles, and weapon and armour characteristics (weight, length, material etc.) are said to influence your battling style without the need for micromanagement.

Dragon’s Dogma is due for release on Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2012. Capcom is developing the game using it’s proprietrary MT Framework engine, used in Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet 2. Trailer below.
