Mark Ecko Entertainment to bring Dexter to the consoles; videogame based on the serial killer with morals in pre-production...
Following its debut title in 2005 with 'Getting Up' for Atari, Marc Ecko Entertainment has today confirmed a deal with HBO Showtime to adapt the serial killer brand Dexter into a videogame.
The brand, based on a series of books by Jeff Lindsay, follows Dexter Morgan, a blood splatter expert for the Miami Police Department who also happens to be a serial killer. Trained by his father to focus his sociopathic urges through deadly vigilantism, Morgan only kills those who he thinks have escaped justice.
"DEXTER is the extremely rare TV show with enough layers of action and tension to translate perfectly into a compelling videogame," said Marc Fernandez, Vice President of Marc Ecko Entertainment. "Our game designers, writers, and artists are going to give Dexter's morally complex world the kind of interactivity that gamers will love."
"DEXTER is one of the most popular shows on SHOWTIME with a particularly strong fan base among gamers," said Len Fogge, Executive Vice President, Marketing, Digital Media and Research at Showtime Networks. "We're confident Marc Ecko Entertainment's team has the unique talents to take Dexter to the interactive space in the right way."
Currently in pre-production, Marc Ecko Entertainment is looking for a development partner, so don't expect to be righting the wrongs of others for quite some time.

Hmm...I don;t know how to feel about this but I am sure that some will be happy and others will be in an uproar. The TV show has been interesting but I just don't see it being a video game. It is an odd cross over though. As gamers we kill, frag and annihilate so it will be interesting to have a game based on a character that is a serial killer.
