Pandemic Australia Parts Company With EA??? News

Pandemic's Brisbane based studio appears to be on the ropes, having apparently separated from EA...

Destroy All Humans!

According to online reports, the Australian arm of Pandemic Studios (best known for its work on the Destroy All Humans! series of games) may have parted company with its third party publisher Electronic Arts.

This is according to an anonymous source who noted that the studio has been "set free" from EA while retaining its original IP and equipment. "It was more of a 'Find a new publisher. Good luck.' kind of thing," the source told Kotaku.

There's certainly some substance behind this rumour as Australian gaming sites were reporting the closure some months ago, while also noting that the studio was working on a Batman game for The Dark Knight movie that has now been canned (a point re-iterated in this latest string of rumours).

These new reports also note that Pandemic Australia was working on an "open-world reality show" game for Nintendo's Wii entitled The Next Big Thing, although no details have arisen as to whether or not the studio will continue work on this project.

TVG has contacted EA for comment and is currently awaiting a reply.

THQ owns the rights to the series. Pandemic hasn't developed any DAH titles for quite a while. This is largely why they have been so terrible.
