EA's sci-fi survival horror shooter will be released in Europe on October 31st for Xbox 360 and PS3...

EA has announced that Dead Space will be released on October 31st. The announcement refers to a release date for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, although a specific date for the PC version of the game remains unannounced.

"Survival horror is about experiencing a terrifying, and deeply personal fiction," said Executive Producer Glen Schofield. "Dead Space is being developed as a single-player thriller that delivers the chilling, claustrophobic feeling of being isolated in a dark environment, while being stalked by some truly horrific enemies. Halloween is the perfect time for EA to deliver the fear and anxiety that will keep survival horror fans up playing all night."

Exactly why the PC version remains unannounced is unclear, although all three versions previously had an autumn 2008 release window prior to today's announcement. TVG has contacted EA for clarification and we'll update you with more information as it becomes available.

Who said TVG works things out as averages?  Scores are weighted according to their importance - so the final score is actually weighted more towards the gameplay rather that visuals or sound.

Hope this helps.
