More Dead Rising 2 Details Emerge News

We're sure you'd already guessed that Frank West isn't going to be the star of Dead Rising 2. At least, you will have done if you took a glance at the initial screens, but now Capcom has unveiled exactly who this mystery replacement for Frank will be.

Chuck Greene is his name and we're told that his profession will have a strong influence on the gameplay features of Dead Rising 2 (in the same way that Frank's penchant for photojournalism inspired the camera usage). However, Capcom weren't revealing what Greene's profession is in this latest portion of details from Famitsu.

The Japanese publisher also plans to retain the 72-hour countdown format of the original Dead Rising, with more weapons and vehicles being promised to wile away that time. Additionally, as we've previously reported, the size of the zombie horde has been bolstered to balance things out.

Dead zombie bodies won't be doing the usual magical vanishing trick this time around either and, instead, will remain in a game section until Chuck moves out of that area and through a new loading point (speaking of which, Capcom is promising reduced loading times as well).

Famitsu did speak with Capcom legend Keiji Inafune on the matter, although he wasn't letting much slip. He did confirm, however, that the game is about half finished and that Capcom is aiming for a simultaneous worldwide release of the title.
