It's official, Dead Rising 2 is heading to Fortune City on Xbox 360, PlayStation3 and PC...
Following the apparent leaked footage, Capcom has been quick off the mark with the official confirmation of Dead Rising 2.
Heading to the Xbox 360, PlayStation3, and PC, Dead Rising 2 switches the action to the Las Vegas inspired locale of Fortune City as what appears to be a new protagonist (boo no Frank West) squares up against "tens of thousands" of zombies.
Set several years after the original Williamette incident, Dead Rising 2 finds the zombie virus spreading across North America.
As the earlier rumours had suggested, Dead Rising 2 is currently in development at Blue Castle Games along with assistance from several team members who worked on the original. Capcom's global head of research and development and lead designer of the original Dead Rising, Kenji Inafune, will also be taking an active role as producer of the sequel.

Yeah, all we know is that it's scheduled for an early 2010 release. If Capcom's release strategy for its triple A games is anything like last year with SFIV and Resi 5, then Lost Planet 2 and Dead Rising 2 will arrive around spring time.
