Steering wheel support, online multiplayer, and new Karaoke mode coming to classic title...
SEGA has now officially confirmed most of what we reported earlier today, albeit with a few added details: first and foremost, Daytona USA will arrive on October 26th over Xbox Live Arcade in Europe, and late November via PSN (American PSN users will be able to get hold of it on October 25th).
A price tag of 800 Microsoft Points has been confirmed, which will translate to £7.99 over PSN. SEGA has tuned-up the game to a 16:9 widescreen display and the multiplayer to support up to 8 players online, which is a first for the series on home consoles.
The mysterious Karaoke mode mentioned in the leaked Achievements list is spoken of in SEGA's press release, but it remains just as much of a mystery: “Relive your glory days of racing to the sounds of the original Daytona USA soundtrack, also available in Karaoke Mode (admit it, you know you’ve been singing along anyway)” - Make of that what you will.
Daytona USA will be compatible with all Xbox 360 steering wheels - PS3 users, on the other hand, appear to be limited to the Logitech GT Driving Force wheel (no other models were confirmed).
