Introversion Confirms Darwinia+ For XBLA News

After planning the mass-slaughter of billions with DefCon, UK-based indie Introversion has today confirmed that it's to revisit an old flame, with news that Darwinia is heading to Xbox Live Arcade this Autumn.

Entitled 'Darwinia+ Survival of the Flattest', the game will include both the original Darwinia from 2005 as well as its long-anticipated multiplayer version, Multiwinia.

In a forum post on their website, Introversion explained that they were forced to make the announcement after the United States ratings board, the ESRB, gave the title an 'E for Everyone' rating.

Set inside a network of computer terminals infested with viruses, Darwinia saw gamers explore the virtual worlds to protect 'Darwinians', AI beings created by Sir Clive Sinclair lookalike, Dr. Sepulveda. Very much retro-styled (think Tron mixed with Cannon Fodder), Darwinia was the second game from Introversion, following Uplink - there's no word on whether there are plans for the rest of the catalogue to follow suit onto XBLA.
