The schedule for this month's San Diego Comic Con lets a smidgen of detail slip on EA Maxis' next Spore game...

The first glimmer of detail from EA Maxis' next Spore game has emerged in a schedule for this month's San Diego Comic Con.

On the July 24th agenda for the convention is a "first game reveal to the public" of EA Maxis' next Spore title, which is also referred to on the schedule as "a brand new, Sci-Fi Action-RPG based on the DNA of Spore".

Presumably this is the same Spore game that EA mentioned in its financials earlier this year. If so, then it's due to arrive during the first three months of next year.

EA is likely to drop assets and a press release around the time of the Comic Con reveal, so presumably we'll find out exactly what "Sci-Fi Action-RPG" means then.

Given that the original Spore game was effectively a mish-mash of classic gaming genres, "Sci-Fi Action-RPG" could mean a lot of different things at this stage. More as we get it...
