Ubisoft's second foray into the Might & Magic universe set to utilise the Source Engine...

Ubisoft today confirmed the development of their second title set in the Might & Magic universe since their acquisition of the brand in 2003. The first-person action title is currently being developed by Arkane Studios, critically acclaimed creators of Arx Fatalis.

Dark Messiah of Might & Magic will be the first time that a fantasy action game completely utilises a first-person combat system, and using the enhanced Source Engine created by Valve for Half Life 2the game looks set to feature improved character animation, advanced AI, real-world physics and shader-based rendering.

Dark Messiah of Might & Magic will be unveiled at the Games Convention in Germany on August 17, 2005 before being unleashed to gamers during Summer 2006.
