Universal Studios strikes a deal with EA for film rights to an as yet unannounced Dante's Inferno game...
Fancy a journey into the nine circles of hell? If EA have got anything to do with it, you'll be able to make that epic voyage from the comfort of your very own home and at the foot of your shiny games console.
According to a Variety report, Universal Studios has agreed on a deal with EA that gives the company film rights to an as yet unannounced Dante's Inferno game under production at EA.
The agreement, which includes a seven figure purchase price after an initial option fee, came as the result of an EA auction for the rights that included four other Hollywood studios (Paramount, New Regency, MGM, and Warner Bros.).
We're assuming that the game and prospective film will be loosely based on Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, an Italian poem that was originally published over seven hundred years ago and famously includes the 'Dante's Inferno' chapter where Dante imagines travelling into the depths of hell.
With EA games such as Mass Effect, Army of Two, and The Sims being produced into films and other properties such as Dead Space currently making speculative forays into Tinseltown, EA is right at the front of a Hollywood boom in game-to-film productions.

Sorry about posting twice, the thing [#@!?]ed up.

I played DI, the bosses seemed fun to me, *spoiler* Midas requiring perfect timing, Marc Antony being one tough guy. Aleghedro (Weird name!) was just easy though, with only two upgrades required to beat him mercilessly until he cries like a little girl. *end spoiler* Also a whole bunch of enemies were mini-bosses (those goddamned twirlers in the circle of greed) that really challenged me.
The graphics are WAY better than previous gen. Maybe a couple of cutscenes were [#@!?], but the thing as a whole was pretty bloody good. And someone please post if they know what the hell is the guy from 3 comments back going on about.

i finished the game in 2 days (zeolot mode) PSP
i would say that the camera angles was so lame. i couldnt see the area unless i stood a the bottom of the screen. i had that as a major problem since i focused on making combos on good timing, i can't do it since i can't see the enemy from the far part of the screen!
anyway, there are some parts where i have to walk somewhere then suddenly the camera angle is blocked completely by a wall or a rock.
the skills are not so creative, i expected more powerful-looking strikes and attacks when i reached level 5-7 of unholy and holy skills.
the game loads slow, there is very limited movement in the beginning since the story always gets in the way.
the bosses are not hard to beat, not hard to evade their attacks, but they just have a large amount of HP, that's all they have.
i played God of War before Dante's Inferno, i expected more from the latter since it was released at a later date. i thought they would try to surpass God of War. this game does come close to god of war, but it's just not good enough.
enjoyable, a bit boring on the 8th circle because the map just keeps on repeating. i wouldn't try this on any mode again, let alone to play it again. it just doesn't feel like i want to play it again.
overall i would rate this game at 6/10 ..

No offense, but you guys suck if you could not beat Lucifer after several hours. He's tough yes, but if you use combos and (if holy) combine magic that refills health with the relic that refills mana, he's pretty easy.
I really enjoyed Dante's Inferno. Is it a Gof of War clone? Yes it is, but it's a very good one with a compelling story of its own.
Definitely word a play.

GoW isn't on Xbox because Sony Santa Monica is a first-party developer and Sony owns the GoW intellectual property rights. It would be like Halo coming to PlayStation.

The game is obviously more meant for ppl with only a 360 cuz playstation is afraid to share cuz they know they don't stack up... if they did, why isn't GOW on XboX?? I'd love to play GOW, but i'll gladly settle for DI cuz why would any1 buy a whole new system for one game?? thats insane. Oh, unless mommy and daddy are willing to buy their pumpkin another needless toy.

Dante's Inferno is very like GOW I and II, although I think GOW III will be a very different experience overall.
