Damnation is a new shooter which is set for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this winter...

One thing is clear about Damnation, it certainly looks very different. If your up for playing in a post-industrial world influenced by iconic periods in American history, while also riding futuristic motorbikes that drive up walls, then Blue Omega Entertainment's Damnation has pretty much got you covered.

Due for release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this winter, Damnation will pit players against an "arms dealer hell-bent on total world domination", while the screens appear to reveal a protagonist called Rourke who looks like a cross between the Terminator and Clint Eastwood in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

We're not sure exactly what is meant by a "post-industrial" game world, but it could mean a slightly Mad Max feel to the game by the looks of things, what with bikes that can seemingly launch across "infinite chasms".

Codemasters also promises a "shooter gone vertical", which is a bit of a head-scratcher. Perhaps it could be something to do with the vast levels which will not only be very long (up to three hours long apparently), but will also cover "thousands" of vertical feet. We've also been told that acrobatics will play a part, both with playable characters and AI enemies.

Damnation is set to offer some mouth-watering multiplayer trimmings as well, so let the anticipation begin...

Or maybe Epic copied a lot of the elements they saw in original Damnation mod for Unreal Tournament which placed second in the 2004 Make Something unreal contest...

Just a thought.
