Superstar DJ David Guetta says that he will be working on the next instalment in Activision's DJ Hero franchise...
Despite the fact that DJ Hero has posted underwhelming sales figures since its release last October, superstar DJ David Guetta has seemingly revealed that he's been employed by Activision to work on a sequel to FreeStyleGames' rhythm action title.
"I think it's amazing, this game, and I'm going to work on the No. 2 version," Guetta told Kelowna. "It's a really crazy game. After 10 minutes, you get the rush that a DJ gets after 10 years of practising. I have fun with it, but you know what? I can't go to the maximum level. It's too difficult for me. It's crazy."
Activision recently released a David Guetta Mix Pack as DLC for DJ Hero, which includes mixes of his 2009 mega-hits "When Love Takes Over" (with Kelly Rowland) and "Sexy Chick" (with Akon), so Guetta's involvement in a sequel certainly makes a lot of sense in this regard.
Rumours had previously surfaced of a DJ Hero sequel before the first game was even released, when gi.biz reported last September that UK developers were liaising with FreeStyleGames on a sequel and DJ Qbert had apparently been approached to work on the project.
This was before the game posted a worryingly low 386,000 unit sales in its first two months of NPD figures from the US market. UK sales have fared no better, with DJ Hero entering the charts at No.20. Despite considerable price cuts, the game has failed to better this chart position since then and dropped out of the top 40 this week.
However, DJ Hero was released in a year when the bottom dropped out of the rhythm game market. Analysts have estimated that sales of rhythm games dropped by over 50% in 2009 compared to 2008 figures, while landmark titles such as The Beatles: Rock Band failed to sell strongly in 2009 despite optimistic projections initially.

God damn I cannot wait for this game... Obviously it was a no brainer to bring it out, and I'm sure I am not the only one who saw Guitar Hero and thought, "How good would a DJ version be"...
From the sound of your review i will ordering this from the US so it's gets to Australia asap.
