Creative Assembly job ad makes reference to a "next-gen sports title" at the developer's Brisbane studio...

Creative Assembly's Brisbane studio is currently advertising for a Lead Gameplay Programmer to work on an "upcoming next-gen sports title" that appears to be destined for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC platforms.

"The Creative Assembly is currently seeking a passionate and creative Lead Gameplay Programmer for our upcoming next-gen sports title," reads the job ad over on Gamasutra before mentioning the platforms under the 'Job Details' section.

For Creative Assembly, this is certainly a stark departure from the realms of grand scale, historically accurate Total War RTS games. Having said that, it's worth remembering that before the Total War games, Creative Assembly ported a number of EA Sports games to the PC platform during the 90s.

Creative Assembly Brisbane's previous work has included ports of old-school Sonic games to the Sonic Classic Collection on DS as well as supplementary work on the Total War series.

Thanks, Superannuation.

Update: It looks like this "next-gen sports title" is an official tie-in for the 2012 London Olympics, if reports over on Eurogamer are anything to go by. It certainly makes sense, given that SEGA (Creative Assembly's keeper) has published licensed games for the Beijing 2008 Olympics and Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics over the last few years, not to mention its Mario & Sonic tie-ins as well.
