More blunt weapon bashing, crime-scene solving action from SEGA and Monolith...

With a macabre stance on psychological thrillers, SEGA today confirmed a return to Monolith's tension-filled shooter with the development of Condemned 2: Bloodshot for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation3.

Top of the list of improvements include an all-new fighting mechanic and online multiplayer, complimenting the original's unique blend of deductive skills and brute force.

Reprising the role of Ethan Thomas, it's up to the former Serial Crimes Unit investigator to track down his missing partner in the latest chapter of the series. Using firearms, blunt objects and whatever else comes his way, Condemned 2 introduces a new fighting mechanic that provides the scope for defensive and offensive combos.

"The original, Condemned, was a game which truly shocked and scared its players with its subtle details, gripping story and eerie tension throughout," said Gary Knight, European Marketing Director, SEGA Europe. "Condemned 2: Bloodshot takes these three key elements to heightened new levels, providing a superb mature gaming experience that will constantly surprise its players and keep them gripped from start to finish."

as a mature gamer I hope we will see more titles along the lines of this. The mixture of fps and csi is a clever mix and maybe in future more forensic ideas could be implemented

As long as they make much, much more of the forensic system. I want to actually use my brain for these rather then just being able to wave soemthing in the general direction.

The first game was creepy as hell, surround sound and HD were made for this. Looking forward to the sequel.
