Former Hollyoaks actress confirms her role as Lt Eva McKenna in Red Alert 3...

By way of an announcement heralding this year's M Festival, the organisers have let slip that former Hollyoaks actor and I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here star, Gemma Atkinson, will be taking a leading role in Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3.

TVG had previously discovered that a British actress would be taking on a role in the FMV sequences, however EA were adamant not to let any details slip when we pressed them for further details last month.

Today's announcement confirms that Atkinson will be assuming the role of Lt Eva McKenna, a military officer with a twinkle in her eye and a stiff upper lip that fans of Red Alert 2 will instantly remember. The role follows her appearance at this year's Play.com Live event, where she co-presented the main event alongside Iain Lee.

Gemma said: "I'm a gamer and the chance to act in one of the best loved videogames was an opportunity I was really keen to explore - especially as Eva is such a strong female character. The worlds of gaming and film are getting ever closer and as an actress I wanted to explore this exciting new area of drama, broaden my acting skills and continue the active, outgoing side of my personality that I showed in I'm A Celebrity..."

GLA waging war against thew world powers like USA and China, one general pitted against the other in the death struggle... simply marvelous, and the music is FANTASTIC, the orchestra made a great job. Can't wait for it to be released! Only a poor reviewer would say that CnC:G was a bad game, it was diferent from the rest of the CnC franchise, but surely NOT bad. Quality game imo and thumbs up for all the fans who were waiting for the sequel, cya on the battlefield generals!!! P.S: it would be great if we had another badass faction which could be an ally of GLA, for the odds to be 2:2.

AND BE VERY ANGRY lol no seriously, Generals (ZH) was the best RTS ever... I know Vx's look cool and i suppose in the RA series do kinda fit, BUT PLEASE OMFG dont pull a fast one on us here. 3 factions is enough (given they all get an additional 3 sub factions) The map size of generals is something else i like compared to other cnc games. DONT YOU DARE MAKE INF SQUADS again... EVER! Something that MUST return to the generals world is renewable source of income (dropzones blackmarkets hackers) Something to think about. Maybe raising the overall cost of each unit slightly. so it A. makes it harder to spam units. B. makes it even more important to get the correct rush tatics.Also having some kind of ticket based system (just an idea) so that players cannot spam the same unit over and over. (but not like warcraft 3) or atleast make it harder so as soon as the player has five or more of the same unit the price goes up on the cost of that unit. and the again at 10 and so on.Cheers!
