Codemasters confirms the development of Colin McRae DIRT for the Xbox 360, Playstation3 and PC...

Having taken a much-needed sabbatical during the 2006 season, Codemasters today announced the return of Colin McRae in the shape of Colin McRae DIRT for the Playstation3, Xbox 360 and PC - whether or not the Flying Scot will actually get a return ion the real world, however, still remains the subject of much speculation, but at least he's making an appearance in some form.

Scheduled for release in 2007, Colin McRae DIRT promises to offer the most diverse and exhilarating rallying experience in a videogame yet, with sensational gravel, dirt and mud events across the world.

Taking charge of heavyweight 850bhp vehicles, Colin McRae DIRT challenges players in Hill Climb events, with the entire 12.4 miles of the world famous Pikes Peak International featured in the game. Players will also find the challenge of multiple car races in Dakar-style trucks and super-powered 4x4s on tough desert terrain in Rally Raid competitions. Finally the game also promises Rally Cross events, where the competition is tight and collisions inevitable. Further events and challenges to be featured in the game will be revealed by Codemasters at a later date.

With the promise of more varied events than any other single-championship rally game and online multiplayer, Codemasters claim that the Colin McRae series is being reborn as a bigger, faster, wilder racing experience - but they would, wouldn't they!

Expect more information on Colin McRae DIRT soon.

to the guy who prefer rsc2 , the handling is the same, what are you on? and the graphics are amazing ,they get better the further you get through the game, some gamers say get the steering wheel and it changes the feel totally making it more realistic but tbh i think its the best racing game for 360 by a mile

I have no experience of previous Colin Mcrae Games but I loved Rallisport challenge 2... and I love this!!! It looks incredible and once you get used to the handling it feels and plays great too. The horrible American 'Way to go dude!!!' voiceovers after every race may try your patience though.

Looks great but cars feel strangely weighted, no doubt intended to make it easier to drive and more accessible to kids but as a result loses a lot of its character. Rent before you jump onto the hype wagon. I prefer the feel of Rallisport2 and will wait on Rallisport3. Hope they don't make that "more accessable" too 8.5/10

You are wise and fools, this game will only have very small diffences from xbox 360 to ps3. It dosen't matter what system you pick becasue you pick the right one for you.
