Codemasters has released a statement about their feelings and experience with the Rallying legend...

Following the tragic death of Colin McRae, his son and two family friends on Saturday in a helicopter crash, Codemasters (the publisher/developer responsible for the popular games that bore Colin McRae's name) has released the following statement:

Everyone at Codemasters, especially those who worked directly with Colin McRae, is deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic events of this weekend.

The loss of Colin McRae is deeply distressing. That it involved his son and another so young makes it even more tragic. Our thoughts are with his family and those closest to him and we share in their pain.

For over ten years, Colin was part of the Codemasters family and it was a privilege to have a man recognised as a true legend on the team. He always took a keen interest in the game experience, wanting to make sure it was without equal in its portrayal of the sport.

His contribution was inspirational and brought his technical expertise and passion for rally driving to each and every McRae game. Through the popularity of those games, he brought a whole new audience to the sport itself.

Codemasters' relationship with Colin began through Jim, David and Richard Darling and their condolences, along with ours, are passed to Colin's family. We are heavy of heart at his passing but we are also brimming with pride at knowing him and to have played a small role in his life.

He will never be forgotten by all at Codemasters.

to the guy who prefer rsc2 , the handling is the same, what are you on? and the graphics are amazing ,they get better the further you get through the game, some gamers say get the steering wheel and it changes the feel totally making it more realistic but tbh i think its the best racing game for 360 by a mile

I have no experience of previous Colin Mcrae Games but I loved Rallisport challenge 2... and I love this!!! It looks incredible and once you get used to the handling it feels and plays great too. The horrible American 'Way to go dude!!!' voiceovers after every race may try your patience though.

Looks great but cars feel strangely weighted, no doubt intended to make it easier to drive and more accessible to kids but as a result loses a lot of its character. Rent before you jump onto the hype wagon. I prefer the feel of Rallisport2 and will wait on Rallisport3. Hope they don't make that "more accessable" too 8.5/10

You are wise and fools, this game will only have very small diffences from xbox 360 to ps3. It dosen't matter what system you pick becasue you pick the right one for you.
